Stems and Leaves

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! Isn't God great? I am so thankful to him for bringing me this far and guiding my family and friends with his love and peace. To my readers, I'd like to say a BIG thank you to you guys for your patronage and contributions, I pray 2013 will be a better year for you and yours and I also look forward to frequent and better blog posts. :)

I decided to wear this ankara piece to church on New year's day. The thing about this particular print is you either love it or loathe it...Me? I am kerrrrazy about it even though the material has been lying jejely in my box since 2011. When I was designing this outfit, I found it somewhat symbolic, and thoughts came to mind. The sprouting leaves reminded me of the need for a rebirth, the need for growth, the need to embrace change and transform for the better, the need to break up with my comfort zone, the need to spread love, the need to not be afraid to visualise and affirm my success, the need to dream big and take chances, the need to get back up when I get knocked down, the need to rise up and bless the world with my talent...

 I spread the leaves across my chest, not just to make a fashion statement but also to remind myself that it all starts from within.  Truly, I cannot change my actions unless I change and renew my mind. 

"The biggest room in the world is the room for self improvement." It's a brand new year, old things have passed away, and it's time to get better and grow. Even when you falter in the course of following through your new year's resolutions, get up, start afresh and march on.
